Feature Feline: Marlee
2 year old spayed female
Well, this girl's body tells us a few stories of what she has been through in her two years.
But the full chapters and whole book remain a mystery.
The true story of how the tips of her ears frozen off.
The story of how she ended up missing a length of her tail.
Motherhood has also shaped her body. How many litters, who knows.
She is a little bit thin. Did she ever have treats before the shelter? Soft food? A Bed?
We had to be gentle with her and do a photoshoot a little bit differently than most.
Emotional scars are visible in time spent with her.
She sooooo desperately wants your love, but is scared.
Scared you are trying to hold her tight so she can't escape.
Scared you will hurt her.
Her response is an over stimulated and fear based light nibble to tell you "no, that is making me scared".
That is not her fault.
That is the response of an animal who has had years of neglect.
No consistent human touch, love or affection. Nor the ability to fully trust.
She needs routine, tenderness, gentleness, affection but, most importantly, love, time and patience to adapt.
To learn to trust humans.
To learn she can depend on humans.
That she can love humans, and they love her right back.
She needs to learn that she found her furever home where she doesn't need to worry.
About feeding herself, her kittens and just surviving.
To learn to be an indoor cat.
She may have never slept in a bed.
Or truly ever felt love.
Help her finish writing her a happily ever after fairy tail ending.....
If you are interested in adoption and would like a private shelter feline meet & greet session, please give us a call at (306)228-2132 to set up a time that is convenient for you! (We prefer 24-48 hours notice if possible and our phone does not receive texts).

Ash - 7 month old neutered male - In foster care, Luseland Sk.
Foster Mom says - He's a young boy who stumbled upon me in the summer. Ash was fearfully nibbling on food a few times a week, usually always at night. When I finally got him, the poor thing was just terrified and trembling (I don't blame him). He was very thin, dirty, and had sores on his little beans. But he was safe. He just didn't know it yet.
It took a little bit of time to gain his trust. He went from being scared, to a young little boy full of zoomies and curiosity. He will snuggle into your neck, and roll into you while purring, making it impossible to move.
This little boy who was born in this April loves to play, snuggle, get lots of pets and attention, and he definitely loves his treats! When he's happy, his little tail jiggles, it's just too cute! Ash is great with other cats, he runs around and plays with my others. I must be lucky with my cats, they welcome others so willingly and help them settle in. This boy is also fantastic with kids and would be great for a loud family like mine or even something a bit more on the quieter side.
He is a little shy, so it may take a little bit of time for him to truly show his colors. If you create a welcoming environment, he will be following you and wanting snuggles in no time. Ash, without a doubt would make a great addition to any cat loving house! 🩶
Ash is currently being fostered by us through KC Rescue. He is now ready for adoption and a furrever home! If you are interested in Ash or have any questions about this little boy, please feel free to send me a message!
🩶
Along with treatment for any existing health concerns, cats that enter KC Rescue's care receive:
Testing For Feline Leukemia and FIV
Mandatory Spay/Neuter
Parasite Treatment
Vaccinations and Booster (including rabies)
Tattoo
Microchip

Pixel - 6 month old neutered male.
Pixel may only be six months old, but he’s already a big, handsome guy with an even bigger heart. In our kitten room, he’s proven himself to be a gentle, caring big brother—he gets along wonderfully with the little ones and shows them nothing but patience and love.
He absolutely adores treats, soaking up affection, and spending time with humans. In Pixel’s eyes, people are pretty fantastic!
While he has lived with adult cats before, he sometimes found them a bit intimidating. With the right feline companion—ideally someone close to his age or with a similar easygoing personality—he’s sure to thrive.
In the short time he’s been with us, we’ve seen his quieter, thoughtful nature. We’re confident that with time, stability, and love, his personality will continue to blossom beautifully in his forever home.
Pixel is ready to grow, adapt, and become someone’s loyal and loving companion. Will that someone be you?

Doogie Mouser
1yr old neutered male
This guys has such a quiet and gentle demeanor that he won our hearts in no time.
He was so very shy at first but barely let out a hiss during his whole trapping process.
Doogie was found at the Unity Hospital, and good thing as there was very caring cat lovers that spotted him.
Not to mention fed him well!
We just recently discovered that he is a bit of a drooler!
Get out the treats and love him up and the purring and the drooling starts.
He is so majestic, gorgeous and charming that you will fall in love with him too.
Always gentle. Always sweet and a bit on the silly/goofy side as well.
I mean, come on, look at that face!!!!
He has made close friends with Donegan, another one year old male tabby at KC Rescue. They snuggle and play together. It is really adorable.

Bestie's Doogie Mouser and Donegan
Two is always better than one when it comes to cats. These two love each other and are two peas in a pod. Did you know that the first adoption is $150 but second is only $75? But getting two cats that play together, get along together, love each other, groom each other, all while you are away at work = priceless.

Donegan
1year old neutered male
Well, Donegan was found outside of Unity and it was originally thought that he was a semi feral barn buddy.
But it turns out, that he was just being shy!
Now as you can see, he gets over that pretty quick and he is actually just a silly, gentle and super affectionate love sponge!
Not to mention a purring machine!
He purrs when you aren't even touching him.
Just being in the room with you he is happy!
Donegan just wants love and to rub his face all over you.
How could you deny this dapper boy!!
