Adoptable Cats: Text
JuJube - 9 month old spayed female
* LONGEST SHELTER RESIDENT - 6 Month Shelter Stay
Well this little sweet treat is from right here in Unity
Doesn't Jujube remind you of an ancient Egyptian cat Goddess?
She is just so picturesque don't you think?
She likes to sit up high and look down on her subjects, yet, she can be silly.
Like sitting in the sink getting all wet or tilting her head to admire the water coming out of the tap.
JuJube is a bit of a Diva and is scared of other cats.
Here is one take on why.
She was found, as a stray right here in Unity.
Jujube may have been the focus of unwanted male cat attention or even may have had territorial conflict.
So she is still scared and under the assumption that other cats are going to try to hurt her.
She would do best in a home by herself, or with a docile companion.
Jujube is very affectionate when she feels safe, and is even a kisser/face licker.

Duchess is a bit of a diva and likes to have all of your attention to herself.
She loves to play with toys, chase being her fav game to play.
She also loves affection but when she is done, she is done and will get up and leave you wanting more.
Just like a real diva.
Duchess has a medium length coat and has had the tips of her ears frozen off that came from life as a stray.
But, Duchess is glad she was rescued and is looking for her new home with the throne, a lap of luxury and worship that she truly deserves.

Unsure if you should adopt an adult or a kitten or two?
An adult cat may be better suited to your lifestyle.

Feature Feline: Marlee
2 year old spayed female
Well, this girl's body tells us a few stories of what she has been through in her two years.
But the full chapters and whole book remain a mystery.
The true story of how the tips of her ears frozen off.
The story of how she ended up missing a length of her tail.
Motherhood has also shaped her body. How many litters, who knows.
She is a little bit thin. Did she ever have treats before the shelter? Soft food? A Bed?
We had to be gentle with her and do a photoshoot a little bit differently than most.
Emotional scars are visible in time spent with her.
She sooooo desperately wants your love, but is scared.
Scared you are trying to hold her tight so she can't escape.
Scared you will hurt her.
Her response is an over stimulated and fear based light nibble to tell you "no, that is making me scared".
That is not her fault.
That is the response of an animal who has had years of neglect.
No consistent human touch, love or affection. Nor the ability to fully trust.
She needs routine, tenderness, gentleness, affection but, most importantly, love, time and patience to adapt.
To learn to trust humans.
To learn she can depend on humans.
That she can love humans, and they love her right back.
She needs to learn that she found her furever home where she doesn't need to worry.
About feeding herself, her kittens and just surviving.
To learn to be an indoor cat.
She may have never slept in a bed.
Or truly ever felt love.
Help her finish writing her a happily ever after fairy tail ending.....
